Yifeng Tan - Recent Works

At a time of increased interest in the work of Chinese artists in Australia, Paddington Contemporary is pleased to hold a solo exhibition of Yifeng Tan’s recent works.The exhibition features paintings from Tan’s apple series and his more recent floating bowl series plus selected fibreglass sculptures.
The figures in Tan’s paintings are like voyagers, suspended between confusion and hope, and interacting in environments in which they obviously aren’t comfortable. A parallel can be drawn between Tan’s art and his experience as a migrant. (Artist Statement)
Yifeng Tan has recently exhibited with artists such as Guan Wei and Guo Jian in “Southern Skies – Chinese Artists in Australia” – a group exhibition opened by The Hon Kevin Rudd MP, Prime Minister in Beijing.
Tan has a Graduate Diploma of Art, ANU, Canberra and divides his studio time and exhibition schedule between Canberra and Beijing.
